NEW RELEASE JUNE 2026

The Memory in the clay.

Red-blooded Vase is a story of clay, memory, and resistance set in a secluded village where porcelain carries mystery, the mountains whisper, and the unseen world lingers close to the human one. Blending magical realism with ancestral spirits and old traditions, the novel follows a community whose beauty, devotion, and way of life are tested by the arrival of the Ocean Devils, an imperial force bent on conquest. Lyrical, intimate, and haunted, it invites readers into a world where the earth watches, love transforms, and nothing given to the land is ever truly lost.

What can a forgotten village, hidden in the mountains, do against the Ocean Devils’ mighty army?

Fight.

Glimpses into the narrative

"He’d always been an excellent swimmer; water was his oldest ally. He stepped in, the river’s chill sharper than he expected, biting at his skin. With both feet now immersed, he let go of the safety of the bank. He was at the river’s mercy, and this river, he sensed, showed mercy to no one."

Lín Ruì sat, as usual, before his old friend. His fingers sank deep in the soil, feeling its moist, warm embrace. The forest, full of life, soothed his heart, full of fears. He wondered how many kingdoms had risen and fallen beneath Shù Gōng’s branches. Did the old tree understand his fears? Did it know what loss meant?

The Voice Behind the Story.

Le Han is the pen name of an Early Years teacher living in Guangdong. Red-blooded Vase is his first novel, a story born from the land he now calls home. Whenever possible, he travels to remote old Lingnan villages to explore, take photographs, and immerse himself in the beauty of their architecture. Yet it is not only the architecture that captivates him. Places like Qingyuan, Zhaoqing, Foshan, Huizhou, and Shaoguan hold such beauty and quiet magic that it becomes easy to imagine a hidden world concealed in plain sight. It was during one of these journeys that the story first came to him, and his love for Latin American magical realism did the rest.

A dance between history and fantasy that he hopes you will enjoy.
